Specialist advice and assistance for inbound tourism

Australian Attractions Pty Ltd is a Sydney and Melbourne based company providing specialist inbound tourism counsel and assistance to:

We are experts on Inbound travel with over 25 years of experience and a combined total of over 80 years in our team.

Update

Compared to 2023, 24/25 to date has seen good growth from most major markets — including, finally, China and Japan. We are, however, still a long way from 2019 and growth appears to be slowing.

2023 proved to be false start for many markets, with slow growth in critical airline capacity from Asia.

2024 saw what looked like a possible return to pre covid days. That level of growth has not yet continued into 2025. But there is business flowing and we are across all the main markets in both the origin and the Australian distribution channels.

China

China* is our number one inbound market and is likely to remain so. Growing air capacity has also led to more appealing air fares. We see growth continuing in mainstream leisure tourism from China along with the strong VFR.

China outbound has returned but not yet to the levels of 2018/19. In August 2023, China finally granted Australia ADS (Approved Destination Status) — essential for full access to the travel agency and group tour outbound market from China. The market grew very slowly, as many other destinations had already established themselves in the China market — primarily Europe and SE Asia (Thailand & Vietnam in particular).

Our team of Chinese speaking experts, headed by Nathan Hou, is working hard on the market, and our expertise is available to you.

Australian Attractions retained our official business structure in China right through Covid (not easy, as it turned out) and we have re-engaged with the unique firewalled Chinese social media and internet search engines. In July 24 we restarted our sales operation for Greater China with a very senior sales manager in Jerry Wang based in Shanghai.

Talk to us if you want real on-the-ground expertise at a genuine low cost.

*(excluding NZ that operates in the same way as our domestic market)

India

India is the number 5 market into Australia and is like China a complex market. Large population, many regional variations to contend with and an array of Airlines and Airports for flights and connections to Australia. Australian Attractions has contracted PB (Paramjit Bawa) for many years the Manager for Destination NSW in India, to assist us in this important market.

South Korea

Korea is the most important leisure inbound market for NSW and Queensland for 2024, and many Sydney based ITOs are competing for the Korean inbound market to Australia. Sydney and the Gold Coast are favoured destinations. We have been active in the Korean market for our entire 30 years, and understand all the sales channels and how they work.

All markets

We are a specialist sales team that can work with product suppliers B2B in a number of ways. Very cost effective, with a reach and frequency that is unmatched in the inbound industry. Call Ken on 0414904746.
